A seasonal summer team for elite players from all clubs in Westchester, Bronx and Queens
Boys | U10 (2017) – U19 (2007) | Season: June – July
The USL Y Summer League is a high-level, short-season program designed for players who want to stay sharp and compete in a professional-style environment during the summer months. Running for 6–7 weeks from June through July, the program combines elite training with meaningful matches, giving players a focused window to develop, perform, and prepare for the next stage of their pathway.
As part of the United Soccer League pathway, the USL Y League connects youth players to one of the most comprehensive development systems in North America. It’s built to mirror the standards of the USL’s pre-professional and professional levels, emphasizing quality over quantity with a strong focus on training intensity, game understanding, and player growth. The league also provides valuable exposure, with opportunities to be identified for progression into higher levels such as USL Academy and USL League Two.
Each USL Y team competes in the national USL Y League structure, facing strong regional opposition while working toward qualification for the North American Championship in Tampa, Florida each December. This national event brings together top-performing teams from across the U.S. and Canada, creating a highly competitive showcase environment.
The summer schedule typically includes 6–8 matches, played from mid-June through first weekend of August, complemented by consistent training sessions. The structure allows players to balance development, recovery, and performance, making it an ideal platform for those looking to maximize their summer while staying in a competitive rhythm.
Overall, the USL Y Summer League is more than just a seasonal program—it’s a key entry point into the USL pathway, offering ambitious players a chance to compete, improve, and position themselves for advancement within one of the top development systems in the region.
